Texas Lacrosse Expo is pleased to host its Inaugural Lacrosse Photography Contest and Exhibition on Saturday, October 17, 2009. The Contest and Exhibition is part of the larger Texas Lacrosse Expo event featuring educational programs, vendor exhibits, and the Lacrosse Boutique. There is no cost to submit entries to the contest or have work exhibited. Admission to the exhibit on October 17 is included with purchased admission to Texas Lacrosse Expo and is open to the public.

Theme:
Any current Texas lacrosse related photo is acceptable whether an action shot or still-life.
- For the inaugural show, “current” refers to photographs taken January 1, 2007 or later.
- “Texas lacrosse related” means:
- Game or action shots must be of lacrosse in which the individual player featured resides in Texas or the team represented is from Texas (any level of play).
- Still-life images must be lacrosse-themed and the photographer must reside in Texas.
The producers of Texas Lacrosse Expo may reject any image deemed inappropriate.
Photographer Eligibility:
The contest and exhibition is open to any amateur photographer whose work falls within the theme of the exhibit as described above. Texas Lacrosse Expo recognizes that interested photographers may occasionally sell photographs or photography services to lacrosse clubs and publish in local newspapers or on club websites. Therefore, for the purposes of this event, “amateur photographer” is defined as an individual who:- engages in photography as a hobby;
- is not employed or contracted by a photography company, a photography studio, or print media as a photographer;
- does not promote his/her photography services as a business or solicit work as a photographer for hire;
- receives less than 10% of his/her annual household income from the sale of photographs or photography services.
Photographers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian verify participation. A Guardian Permission for Participation form is included in the Entry Form.
By submission, photographer ensures that submitted photographs were originally taken by the named photographer and he/she owns the copyright for submitted images.
Important Dates:
September, 30, 2009: Deadline for submissions to arrive at Texas Lacrosse Expo office.
September, 30, 2009: Postmark deadline for Guardian Permission for Participation form for photographers under the age of 18.
October 17, 2009: Exhibition and announcement of contest winners during Texas Lacrosse Expo event.
Submitting Images:
Each photographer may submit up to three images.- Image size for exhibition is minimum 8” X 10” and maximum 11” X 17”. Any size or proportion within the minimum and maximum are acceptable.
- Finished photographs must be mounted for exhibition. Matting or framing is discouraged, but if done, matting and framing is included in the maximum allowable size.
- Finished photographs mounted for exhibition must be received by Texas Lacrosse Expo no later than 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Do not hand deliver. Photos should be delivered by US Postal Service or other carrier to:

- Each image must also be submitted as a JPG digital file along with the Entry Form for the purposes of publishing as indicated in the Use Rights described below. - Digital files must be high resolution, JPG files (300 ppi minimum) suitable for printing.
Use Rights:
By submission, photographers grant Texas Lacrosse Expo the right to use their images for the purpose of marketing future exhibitions, marketing Texas Lacrosse Expo programs, and subsequent display on Texas Lacrosse Expo’s website. Photographers grant the use of their images as stated without further contact or compensation from Texas Lacrosse Expo. Photographer recognition is provided with any use.
Return of Photographs/Future Exhibition:
Texas Lacrosse Expo wishes to promote the sport of lacrosse through public awareness and education. For that reason, Texas Lacrosse Expo prefers to maintain possession of submitted photographs for potential future exhibitions. Individual photographers requiring return of their photograph(s) may contact Texas Lacrosse Expo after November 1, 2009. Photographers will be responsible for the cost of returning photographs.
